Frankie Swims

Mrs. Frankie Swims, age 70 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 at her residence following several months of declining health. She was born in Chapmanville, West Virginia on January 15, 1938, daughter of the late Creed and Julia Marie Duty Conley. Mrs. Swims was a homemaker during her lifetime, and was a member of Living Waters Ministries. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Swims, Sr. of Calhoun; a daughter, Marcella Sheppard, and a brother, Joe Conley, both of West Virginia; and sisters, Nellie Conley of West Virginia, Jean Hodge of Cleveland, Ohio, Ruth Wakeman of Ohio, and Verdella Putnam of Jacksonville, Florida. Survivors include a son, Harry Lee Swims, Jr. and his fiancé Jeannie Heath of Calhoun; daughters, Joyce Dress and her husband Pete of Calhoun, Leah Luptak and her husband John of Grand Terrace, California, Teskola Swims of Calhoun, Julie Adams and her fiancé Danny Herndon of Conway, South Carolina, LeaAngela Smith and her husband Travis, and Debbie McRee and her husband Tony, both of Resaca, and Denice Bohannon and her husband Anthony of Calhoun; a brother, Bobby Conley and a sister, Daisy Workman, both of West Virginia. Twenty one grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie Swims will be conducted Wednesday, August 27 at 3:00pm from Living Waters Ministries, with Pastor Rick Adcock and Pastor Roy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include P.J. Dress, Jeremy Adams, Michael Swims, Billy Brown, Darren Hudgins, and Travis Neitermayer. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday, between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
