Zachery James Owens

Zachery James Owens, surrounded by his loved ones, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Iris DaSilva Owens and the light of his life, his daughter, Zarah Bray Owens, parents Kenneth and Debbie Owens, brother Chadwick D. Owens, sister and brother-in-law Kasey and Todd Davis, mother-in-law Carmelita Cornelius, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Leydi Cochran, sisters-in-law Jessica Cochran and JoJo Cornelius. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.C. and Lillie Mae Owens and Dr. James T. and Vera H. Locklear. Nieces and nephews are Bryson, Brylee, Laken and Mikenzie Davis, Hunter and Drako Owens, Aubrianna and Lillianna Cochran, Jordon and Kingston Harper and Clayton Cornelius. Aunts and uncles are Geneva and the late Charles T. Owens, Christine and the late Floyd Balliew, Pauline and the late Hughdon Davis, Patsy and the late Arthur Owens, Ernest and Betty Jean Owens, James and Evelyn Owens, Dymple and Edward Darnell, Dolly McEntyre, Lynda and Jimmy Galloway, Connie and Add Layson, Gwen and Larry Roye and Judy Wilson. He has many loving cousins who will always honor his memory. Zach was a member of the Calhoun High School graduating class of 1988; he graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1996. He was a certified appraiser and owner of All-Pro Appraisals in Atlanta. He was an avid sportsman, having played football in high school. He enjoyed playing golf, water skiing, fishing, hunting and cycling with his daughter. Zach held his membership in Calhoun First Baptist Church where he grew up and made his commitment to Christ, which sustained him throughout his life. The family will receive friends at Riverview Baptist Church, 141 Liberty Road, Calhoun, GA, 30701, on Thursday, May 29 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, May 30, from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. Services will be conducted at the church on Friday, May 30 at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Jamey Hunt and Bill Loveless officiating. Those serving as pallbearers are Tommy Akers, Johnny Bruce, Chris Bush, Brad Fitch, Scott Hartley, Chris Long, David Long, Mark Momon and Brian Ruddell. Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
