Hazel White

Mrs. Hazel Freeman White, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Redmond Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. White was born on September 07, 1928 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Clark and Ora Gallman Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Jacob White to whom she had been married for 59 years, and by two sisters; Claudia Boring and Vera Mae Allen and a brother, B.W. Freeman. During her lifetime, she was a retired employee of Calhoun City Schools, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. White is survived by one daughter; Martha Holt and her fiancé, David Williams of Calhoun; two sons and daughters-in-law; Johnny White and his wife, Sylvia of Calhoun, and Robert White and his wife, Jackie of Chattanooga; one sister; Aileen Sisson of Rockledge, Florida; one brother; J.D. Freeman of Adairsville; five grandchildren: John Paul White, Misty Stafford, David Langston, Jessica Melton and Jennifer White; and five great grandchildren; Jacob Fairbanks, Heath Stafford, Madison Langston, Daniel Langston and Waylon Melton. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Freeman White will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00am from the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Priest and Kenneth Burnette officiating. Mrs. White will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Singing will be arranged by Mr. Greg Gallman and LaJuana. Active pallbearers serving will include John Paul White, Barry Troglin, Mike Freeman, Rick Freeman, Richard Stafford and David Langston. Honorary escort will be members of the Trinity Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Burial will follow the service at Blackwood Springs Cemetery, with Dr. Bert Vaughn conducting the graveside rites.
